Our History

Jim Cooley Construction, established in 1961, has evolved to emphasize special projects that demand a particular expertise or multiple disciplines.

The company was founded by James H. Cooley (1925 to 2002), son of educators Harry W. Cooley and Ida Hall Cooley. Mr. Cooley’s background included World War II service to the US Army 106th Division in the Battle of the Bulge for which he was awarded the purple heart and two bronze stars. After liberation from German prisoner of war camp, Mr. Cooley returned to America, recovered from his war injuries and completed his education. Mr. Cooley earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1950 and went to work in private industry. Fortified by a strong work ethic and ten years experience Mr. Cooley started Jim Cooley Construction in 1961. In 1969 Carol Cooley joined Jim in the business as Secretary Treasurer. Mrs. Cooley was elected president when Jim retired in 1990 and is an award winning pioneer in the industry.

To better serve special projects, special circumstances, and service oriented customers, our company culture emphasizes a "Project Team" approach focused upon proactive solutions.  We define project success by the quality of the final product coupled with forthcoming positive relationships with the Design Team, Specialty Contractors, and Customer.  

As succession moves to the next generation, The Cooley Construction team's energy is dedicated to the quality of the work and project relationships.  Projects should be profitable and enjoyable for employees and our customers, as well as something to be proud of.
